Pros: Flavorful, Easy Prep, Kid-Friendly, Good Texture
I love these mashed potato patties. They taste like homemade mashed potatoes with a lot less effort. My favorite preparation is to cook them as patties -- I use my no-stick electric skillet and don't have to add any kind of butter or oil to get them lightly browned and crispy. Delicious!
Pros: Flavorful, Easy Prep, High Quality, Good Texture
The potato cakes are the absolute best, I find myself having to buy 3 bags of them a month for the boys! They are easy to cook, very yummy and if I don't make extras for dinner they end up fighting over the last one!
We eat a lot of potatoes in our house and I thought these would help simplify the meals that involve mashed potatoes. They tasted like instant mashed potatoes and we ended up not including them in the meal that night. I will not purchase these again and gave the remaining patties to a friend who likes the taste of instant mashed potatoes.

quick side dish
Date:April 4, 2012
Pros: Flavorful, Kid-Friendly
I read all the reviews on this product, some good some not so good. As for me and my family I have to say this was a nice side dish. Sure u have to b careful flipping them but just let them get a nice crust and then flip them. My 13 yr. old (picky eater) asked for seconds and even asked for me to make them the next day for dinner. I would buy again.
I bought these without looking at the ingredients first. Partially hydrogenated oils are killers. Read any book, nutritional magazine, talk to any trainer, watch biggest loser, read Jillian Michaels!!! I have to say that while they are ok tasting, they are pretty small, bland, and dry.
Pros: Easy Prep, Kid-Friendly, Healthy, Good Texture, Versatile
I saw pros and cons for this item and decided to try for myself. I agree that it's bland if you're used to adding lots of extra ingredients to your mashed potatoes to make them really flavorful. What I do like about these though, is that it allows me to serve mashed potatoes without scrubbing, cutting, boiling, mixing, etc. It's perfect for a quick fix. I haven't made them mashed yet but have cooked them as directed - 2 pads of butter on a skillet for 5 of them, 7 mins each side. They were lightly browned and with a little salt I thought they were good. My potato eating fanatic child loved them. We'll be keeping a bag on hand from now on.

Delicious snack!
Date:December 13, 2011
Pros: Flavorful, Easy Prep, Healthy
I love these ~ I use non-stick spray in a skillet with just salt and pepper. They are good with just a little scrambled egg on the side. My kids love these as well. I order them every month.

Tastes good....but picture makes them look better!
Date:December 9, 2011
Pros: Flavorful, Easy Prep, Kid-Friendly
These taste good, need a bit of extra seasoning or ketchup, etc, but I thought they'd be as good looking as the picture shows (like as if you used a panini press on them of something). Also you can't cook these in the oven. It's stove top or microwave. Even in a skillet it's hard to get them to be as crisp looking as the photo. I definitely WILL NOT order these again!
What can I say? These are easy to make and can be easily added to your meal if you get an unexpected guest and didnt make enough. Has a good flavor and it beats potato flakes any day!

Ehhhh....
Date:October 8, 2011
I tried making these on an electric skillet twice and had trouble getting them to stay together. I ended up with clumps of potatoes on everyone's plate. The flavor was fine, but it felt like a high quality instant potato. They cooked a little inconsistently for me as well. I always end up with one that is ice cold on someones plate. I won't buy again or recommend, but it wasn't an end of the world purchase either.
My first attempt at making these I made a bit of a mess out of them, but they were so yummy anyway. In attempting to flip, they fell apart on me, so in a quick thought I added dried onion & butter, mixed it all up in the pan, we had fried mashed potatoes instead of patties, but they were mmm good :)
These little patties are a great alternative to the standard baked or mashed potatoes. Little crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Only downside is they do not keep in the freezer more than a couple weeks without being ruined. The bag fills with ice and it's money down the drain, so use them quickly!
I have tried to make these from scratch with my leftover mashed potatoes and mine always fall apart. These are so much easier and they stay together. The whole family loves them.
Pros: Flavorful, Indulgent, Easy Prep, Kid-Friendly, High Quality, Good Texture, Versatile
My grandmother used to make these when I was growing up with the leftover mashed potatos and I have never come as close to her recipe until I tried these. They may not be the best thing health-wise, just monitor what else goes on the plate. Perfect side for grilled meat and steamed veggies! I don't make a huge amount at any one time, the bag makes it easy to control portions (I would eat 2 or 3 if I made that many extra!)
Pros: Flavorful, Easy Prep, Kid-Friendly, Good Texture, Versatile, comfort food
My son and I absolutely LOVE these patties! Reminds me of my childhood, when I used to not eat mashed potatoes in the hope that the next day my Mom would make mashed potato patties. Hers were thicker, but equally yummy. Quick dish that makes everyone happy. Never used them as mashed potatoes....they are too good as the patties!

I have never made these into mashed potatoes, rather I always saute them in real butter. Delicious! They get all crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. Very unique and yummy side dish indeed!

never again
Date:November 16, 2010
Pros: Versatile
Cons: Poor Texture, Bland, Poor Flavor
I'm sorry but these were so dissapointing. I could have taken a box of instant mashed potatoes and done the same thing. Everyone in the family took a few bites and we threw the rest away.
